- Binance reserves 200M SOPH for marketing to drive post-launch adoption and visibility.
Binance is back with another major airdrop announcement as it introduces Sophon (SOPH) the latest addition to its HODLer Airdrops lineup. This marks the 20th project featured under the initiative, aiming to reward loyal BNB holders.
Sophon, a blockchain built on the ZK Stack and focused on entertainment and consumer-driven innovation, is set to debut on Binance’s Spot platform on May 28, 2025. This new listing continues Binance’s momentum after the successful launches of projects like $NXPC and $SOON, which also saw cross-exchange visibility on platforms like Upbit.
Airdrop Details and Eligibility
From May 14 to May 17, 2025, users who committed BNB to Binance’s Simple Earn products both Flexible and Locked and On-Chain Yields became eligible for SOPH rewards. Binance has allocated 150 million SOPH, which accounts for 1.5% of the total supply, exclusively for this HODLer Airdrop campaign.
Moreover, Binance plans to distribute SOPH directly to eligible users’ Spot Wallets at least one hour before trading opens. The final details of individual reward distributions are expected to go live five hours after the announcement.
Tokenomics and Trading Pairs
Sophon carries a max supply of 10 billion SOPH, with an initial circulating supply of 2 billion tokens (20%). Binance will open SOPH trading at 13:00 UTC on May 28, with pairs including SOPH/USDT, SOPH/USDC, SOPH/BNB, SOPH/FDUSD, and SOPH/TRY. Notably, Binance has applied the “Seed Tag” to SOPH, marking it as an early-stage project.
To avoid centralization, a hard cap limits each user’s average BNB holding ratio to a maximum of 4% for airdrop calculation. This ensures more equitable distribution among participants.
Future Campaigns and Broader Strategy
Beyond the initial airdrop, Binance plans to allocate an additional 200 million SOPH for marketing purposes. The first batch, 50 million SOPH, will be distributed soon after listing. Another 150 million SOPH will support promotional activities six months later. These campaigns aim to boost project visibility and encourage long-term adoption.
