Plans to Sell NFT Punks for $91 Million- Cryptopunk Owner

Because of the uncertainty surrounding conventional crypto assets, non-fungible token assets continue to sell in millions. On May 11, a set of nine Cryptopunks sold for $16.9 billion at Christie’s. Now a Cryptopunk NFT owner wants $91.64 million for one NFT (Cryptopunk 3100).

Across the world, millions of non-fungible token (NFT) artisans have sold their products to willing buyers. Bitcoin.com News recently released a study indicating that NFT collectors are still the most popular and profitable.

Another study showed that almost three-quarters of sports fans are moderately sceptical about the long-term viability of NFT investments. Despite some scepticism, the failure of traditional crypto elements and NFTs are selling like hotcakes.

Now the owner of rare Cryptopunk (3100) demands 35,000 Ethereum in the rare NFT (ETHs). If sold for the planned price, it would be valued at about $91.64 million, surpassing the previous Christie auction sale of nine Cryptopunks for $16.9 million.

It would also surpass Beeple’s Everyday: The First 5000 Days, which sold for 26,508.809 ETH ($69.3 million). On March 11, 2021, Larva Labs’ Cryptopunk 3100 sold for $7.6 million. Whereas, Cryptopunk 3100 sold for 8 ETH or $2,127 on 6 July 2017.

According to nonfungible.com, in the last seven days, Cryptopunks sold millions of dollars worth of ether. In the previous seven days, Cryptopunks had 935 sales totalling $115 million.

Example: Cryptopunk 8053 sold for 80 ether ($210K) on August 2nd. Cryptopunk 5217 sold for $5.5 million for 2.250 ethers, #2140 for 1.600 ether ($3.7 million), and #3831 for 850 ether ($2.1 million). Cryptopunk 3100 is one of nine extraterrestrial punks. #3100 has a headband, as do 406 punks.

According to Nonfungible.com, the NFT collection of 10,000 unique punks is the week’s top NFT effort. Art blocks, meebits, super rare, sandbox, decentraland, and hazmasks were exceeded by cryptopunks. In fact, Cryptopunks has made two purchases that Art Blocks saw last week, and their 7-day statistic exceeds the NFT project’s previous eight sales combined.
